Wow. Russian River’s Blind Pig IPA pours a golden wheat straw color with a thick head the color of clouds … clouds in heaven. Too much hyperbole? Dig that fresh aroma of hops.
The crew up in Santa Rosa really knows their hops. If either Pliny was a little too astringent for your taste, the Blind Pig is your animal. Whereas those multiple IPAs filled the senses with grapefruit and piney goodness, this American IPA tends to a more subtle citrus finish and a better balance between the florals and the sweet malt notes.
Just as on their fantastic Pliny the Elder, the bottle warns against aging this beer … right.
