A Taste of the Islands #3
The Waimea Brewing Company sits on an incredible piece of property on the southern end of Kaua‘i and is worth searching out after exploring the Waimea Canyon area. I came in parched and wanted to save my taste buds for a tasty-looking IPA the bartender was pouring so I started with a thirst quenching Cane Fire Red.
The red pours with a generous inch-tall creamy eggshell-colored head that dissipates to an eighth-of-an-inch with incredible lacing. Cane Fire Red throws a malty nose with surprising yeast notes. On first sip, the Crystal malts come to the forefront and are followed by a spicy hop finish. This beer is dangerously quaffable and just the ticket after a day spent in the island sun.
